ST. GEORGE’S – MONDAY, 5TH DECEMBER, 2011 – 59-year-old Michael Paul, a resident of Beaton, St. David’s played the National Lotteries Authority’s Lotto game on Friday, December 2nd 2011, and won the advertised $174,000 jackpot prize.

At the handing-over ceremony held on Friday, 2nd December, 2011, Mr. Paul, who is a driver by profession, said that he has been playing the games of the NLA since its inception. Mr. Paul’s favourite games are Lotto and Super 6. The winning numbers were his favourite set of numbers which he has been playing every week, along with 3 other sets of numbers. The winning ticket was purchased at the NLA’s St. George’s Sub-Office on Melville Street.

When asked what it is that he intends to do with his winnings, Mr. Paul said, “I am a father of three, and very happy to have won! This will assist in funding my daughter’s education who is studying in Canada; and help with my other children and grand-children. Of course, I will save the remainder as I plan to retire next year.”

Mr. Paul continued, “I would like to urge everyone to keep playing the games of the NLA, even if – like me - you had not won before. The lottery is a fair and transparent entity that supports sports and culture. You can see where your money goes. I will continue to play for as long as I can.”

The General Manager of the NLA Mr Ronnie Sylvester handed over the winning prize. He said, “We are delighted to present this jackpot cheque to Mr. Paul - longstanding supporter of the NLA; and, therefore, he would have made a meaningful contribution to the development of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. The Board, Management and Staff of the NLA congratulate Mr. Paul on his winning, and we thank you, our loyal patrons, for your support throughout the years.”

The NLA has a product portfolio of 6 games, namely: Bingo, Daily Pick 3, Lotto, Play Way, Scratch and Super 6.
